A Club Within A Club

Private communities always seem to offer a variety of amenities to satisfy the needs of their residents. Big Canoe is no different. Although, I have always been impressed with how our community is open to adding new activities that seem to be trending across the country. A year ago if you asked me if I played Pickleball I probably would have looked at you like you were speaking a foreign language. But it is not only an actual sport, it’s on fire and it’s FUN! Adding 4 new Pickle-Ball courts have proved to be a huge success for the growing list of things to do in the community. Of course the list of other amenities is equally impressive from 27 holes of golf, 3 lakes, fishing, kayaking, hiking, biking…the list seems endless. What most people may not know about Big Canoe is that it has over 50 member supported clubs within the gates.

If reading is your passion, then I suggest you check out the Book Club. Wine happens to be my vice, so naturally I enjoy the spirited debates on which California Cabs pair best with a nice filet. We have a Car Club, a Texas Hold’em group, a Scrap-Booking Club, the Monday night Men’s Pool Shooter’s Club, Trivia every Wednesday evening and the Ridgerunners Club. For the longest time I thought this was a group comprised of adrenaline junkies who liked to push themselves to the limit and run along some of the highest elevations of the community. I couldn’t have been more wrong. What is the Ridgerunners Club? Well, I encourage you to find out for yourself. And if you can’t find a club that interests you in Big Canoe, you can always create a new one!
