Legacy of Caring Marketplace

May 19, 2017 @ 9:00 am - May 20, 2017 @ 4:00 pm

Since its inception in 1989, the Big Canoe Chapel Women’s Guild has raised over $1.4 million to support local charitable organizations in Pickens and Dawson counties. In 2016, the Women’s Guild raised $82,000 to benefit charities that focus on enabling the well-being of women and children by providing life skills to overcome the cycle of poverty, oppression or substance abuse. The first part of this annual Charity event, the Gala and Auction, was last month. This month, the Guild is proud to continue the Legacy of Caring Marketplace, which will include a juried arts and crafts show. There is something for everyone at the Legacy of Caring Marketplace this year! The Juried Arts and Crafts Show inside the Broyles Center and outside on the Chapel patio, will include 28 vendors, offering a variety of handcrafted items including jewelry, pottery, glass art, painting and photography, as well as natural spa products and homemade jams. Treat yourself to homemade cookies, brownies, pies, cakes and snacks from the Bear Paw Bakery before heading downstairs for more shopping! The Book Nook has hardback and paperback books, books on CDs and DVD for the grandkids. The Collectors’ Corner offers gently used home accessories, including linens, china and glassware all at very reasonable prices. Enjoy lunch at the Crazy Bear Café in the lower parking lot. On Friday, listen to music while you eat: on Saturday, visit the Classic and Vintage Car Show and vote for your favorite car. For more information, visit: www.bigcanoelegacy.org, or contact Betina Shearer. Proceeds support charitable organizations in Pickens and Dawson counties whose primary focus is the well being of women and children.
