Wildflower Bunch Garden Club - Promotes the preservation and protection of Big Canoe's woodland setting, the development of home grounds using native plants, and the exchange of information through entertaining and educational monthly programs and periodic trips to nurseries and gardens.
The Garden Club’s Monthly meetings focus on preserving and protecting the integrity of our natural environment and providing education via monthly programs on the development of home grounds using plants and flowers native to the area. Members tend to be folks who like to “dig in the dirt” and add natural beauty to their landscape with native shrubs and wildflowers.
Upcoming programs will feature Hellebores, Composting, Mushrooms, Bees and learning how plants got those “Botanical Names.” In addition to our monthly programs, we sponsor 4-5 visits to local nurseries, such as Scottsdale Farms for a “container gardening” demonstration and hikes at nature preserves with wildflower experts, etc. The Wildflower Bunch also hosts a Plant Sale in April, a Tour of Big Canoe Gardens in June and an auction of Christmas Crafts at our December luncheon. The WBGC is open to all Big Canoe residents. For more information please contact Gordon Griffith, 706-268-1599 or Blossom Holyoak, 706-268-1849.
