Big Canoe Artists meet bimonthly. Visiting artists or members present programs and demonstrations. BCA members also get together for art critiques, trips to exhibits at museums and galleries, and volunteer or outdoor activities. In the latter case, members enjoy getting together to work plein air.

There are a couple of exhibits each year in the community and two or three where BCA members are invited to show in the surrounding areas of Big Canoe. BCA exhibits throughout the year at the Fitness Center and the Clubhouse at Lake Sconti.

BCA members are professionals as well as hobbyists or those who are interested in fine art with producing anything. Most members produce original paintings, drawings and photographs as well as dimensional works, such as pottery. Membership is limited to artists who own property in Big Canoe. Everyone in Big Canoe and their guests are invited to meetings.
