Briarcliff

Through the use of color, texture and soft lighting, The Briarcliff imparts a mountain villa ambiance.  A bubbling water feature, waterfalls and two ponds flowing under the sidewalk in front of the entrance greets visitors.  Gunstock hardwoods create a neutral base for warm metallic and faux painted walls, intricate tile work, beautiful stained glass and elegant, Old World finishes.  Special touches in personal spaces create comfortable retreats for all members of the family – whether in the rich, master bedroom or playful, tree house-inspired boy’s room.

Premier Features:

  • Visitors to this open and airy home are instantly ensconced by their rich, European-inspired surroundings.  Just through the front doors, the home’s stunning dining room sets the tone for the rest of the house, with indirect lighting, decorative wood columns, burnished copper paint and Indian copper slate tiles.  A large, black and copper leaf chandelier sits over the room’s oversized, rectangular table and chairs in variegated golden wood.
  • An entry crowned by a stained glass transom welcomes visitors to The Briarcliff’s mega-office.  With views of the home’s outdoor fireplace and stunning scenery beyond, it may be difficult to get much work done.  The room’s ceiling is tent-like, with faux-painted leather fabric gathering to develop a focal point for the room’s fan-like chandelier.  An additional air of masculinity is created by the room’s color scheme of cinnamon, chocolate and turquoise.
  • Adjacent to the open, gourmet kitchen, a sunroom provides floor-to-ceiling views of the breathtaking North Georgia scenery.  With elegant leather, wood and rattan furniture, and simple window treatments, the emphasis in this room is on the great outdoors.
  • Downstairs, the great room is all about fun.  Set amidst rich finishes and a stacked-stone fireplace, a game table provides the perfect spot for card night.  On one side of the room, a recessed bar area draws attention with its tumbled marble countertops, black glass and wine label tiles, and glazed mocha cabinets.  Next to the bar, a niche wine cellar containing a wine keg and aged bottles is surrounded by a decorative iron gate.  Finally, a media room featuring a 116-inch screen is a movie lover’s paradise.
  • The novel, The Secret Garden, was the inspiration for the terrace level teen girl’s room painted in green.  A hand-painted, vine bed is topped with budding blooms, while a hand-painted trellis overlooks a chaise lounge with views from the surrounding bay windows.
  • No girls allowed!  A blue sky with fluffy clouds overlooks a boy’s tree house bedroom, the third bedroom on the terrace level.  A black bed has perfect views of the room’s murals depicting the view from this Big Canoe tree house.  On one side of the room is a cute cubby surrounded by ramshackle boards nailed together to form a private retreat from all of life’s worries.
