If Claude Monet had designed a mountain home, chances are Tranquility would reflect his vision. Warm tones of green, suede, charred gold and cinnamon, and rich wooden furniture throughout the home establish an elegant, yet relaxed theme. Special touches including faux finishes, painted ceilings, arched entryways, decorative windows and exterior wooden accents provide added charm. Tranquility also is a retreat for hobbyists, with its unique interior “getaways,” including a fly-tying room, potting shed, golf simulator and artists’ studio.

- Upon entering Tranquility the stunning view through the picture windows in the lodge room takes your breath away. A three-piece mural to the right of the foyer mimics the outdoor landscape, and stacked stone columns to the left separate the dining room. The dining room walls are finished in an ovilla plaster treatment and a rustic, yet high design hickory table and chairs complete the room. In the lodge room, a blond leather couch resides in front of the stacked stone fireplace with a custom wooden mantle.
- Stone from the lodge room flows into the gourmet kitchen, keeping room and dramatic round breakfast area with floor to ceiling bay windows. This area is the heart of the home with its comfortable sitting area and large screen TV, country French barn table and modern appliances, including two Sub Zero refrigerators. The soapstone countertops are ivory with touches of navy and gray and a hand painted forest landscape peers out from the stovetop backsplash.
- The hazel-toned walls and soft grey ceiling of the master suite help to create a cozy getaway for the owners. The gem of the suite is the bathroom with soft colored walls and ornate, nature-inspired light fixtures. Decorative cinnamon, amber and blue glass tiles run vertically in the deluxe shower, which is situated behind an $8,000 Jacuzzi Air Bathtub. Stone floors in the master bath lead to abundant closet space, including a shoe room with cedar shelves.
- Hobbyists will love the jade green potting room and blue fly-tying studio, completely outfitted by Orvis, off of the sleeping porch. The fun continues for the resident artist upstairs in a lavish lavender-hued studio complete with easels, paint supplies and a kitchenette. Off of the studio is a guest suite with twin black beds and windows covered in a vibrant fabric with circular patterns.
- Reclaimed barn wood ceiling beams, stacked stone columns, rustic furniture and walls finished in a tequila sunrise luster stone treatment provide a warm, intimate feel for the terrace level, which is ideal for entertaining. Visitors can enjoy a movie in the media room, relax at the custom wood bar with a glass of wine from the wine niche or shoot a game of pool. Golf enthusiasts will feel at home in the golf room, complete with a blue sky, golf-themed mural and $50,000 golf simulator.
- Two luxurious suites on the terrace level provide ample sleeping quarters for guests. The first, faux finished in a soft blue with copper bird accents, includes an espresso toned four-poster hickory bed and a bathroom with a wooden tub surround and marble floor. The second room features a twisted juniper bed, deep gold walls and a spa-like bathroom complete with a Jacuzzi Summer Rain shower. This unique door-less shower includes four body massage jets for the utmost in relaxation.
